A leading method of printing today is the the use of digital printing, which uses either ink or toner based devices to create print outs. It is certainly one of the fastest growing printing methods currently in use and if the technology continues to increase at the pace that it is currently running at, then it will eventually overtake offset printing as the number one printing method in use in the world. However, currently it is just not fast enough to produce at the rate that offset printing is capable of.

Digital printing has the benefit of being adjustable on the fly, meaning that if there is an issue with a print, it can be changed on the computer and it can be reprinted with the new alterations. Advanced printers are used for the more professional quality prints and they can often have a far greater quality than the offset printers. This is just one more reason why digital printing has become so popular.
